Skylar was our "son" on trek, he literally was our ox...That boy pulled our cart through the rain, mud, puddles and flowing water...We love him!! He will be eighteen in February so that equates to an Eagle Scout...This was his final project! We went out to Lake Pleasant and helped him build a huge turtle enclosure.

I do say I love with all my heart, our ward...The love and support from the people in it is unbelievable, what a comfort that is! We had so much fun, the scouts worked really hard! Not to mention the turtles that will be so happy!

After the morning work was over the kids wanted to go down to the lake~ We hiked down a little ways to the water. The kids begged to get in and enjoy January in Arizona~ Audrey was the first one in up to her knees, but very reluctant to go any further. Brenna next....ever so slowly....about a half hour goes by....So my crazy husband hands me his wallet, watch and keys....He bolted off the shore into the air and did a cannon ball into the frigged lake, soaking the kids in one tidal wave! He quickly emerged breathless and pail, laughing his head off! He grabbed Brenna, in a split second the two of them were buried in the water....Brenna emerged with the whites of her eyes showing around her pupils, clawing like a cat to the top of Mike's head forcing him under again....They were both laughing hysterically. Audrey and Jake decided to brave the swim and join in on the fun! Maddy and I thought better of the crazy idea~ We enjoyed watching from the warm shore...I was sure to keep all valuables in my pockets so I didn't get an unexpected dunk. We closed the excitement with an ice cream cone promised by dad to all brave swimmers, Maddy and I enjoyed hot greasy fries~

Why we love living in Arizona...It has been between 70-80 degrees this last week!

I am so glad that you all weren't captured and locked up in the insane asylum! Brrrr! I'm so grateful to have such a crazy family - you all make me look almost normal!
